Essential data such as serial numbers and descriptions are displayed on an electronic signature pad to capture the recipient’s signature. Every transfer is meticulously recorded, updating the chain-of-custody database and audit trail records with critical information, including the officer handling the transfer, the recipient (whether an officer or another person), the specific objects involved, and the precise time and date of the transaction.
