About TrackingSysystemsIoT

TrackingSystemsIoT has been delivering tracking solutions since 2006 for many government, military, police and commercial organizations globally, currently with customers in eighteen (18) countries.  Total Tracking Visibility
(TTV)  was originally developed in 2007 for the U.S. Department of State for its weapons, gear and ammo in warehouses and Issued to embassies and agents worldwide, and has sense been continually improved through global police and military projects.

Total Tracking Visibility (TTV) is a mature, proven solution backed by extensive prior experience.

Weapon management software

About WeaponTracker

  • Total Tracking Visibility (TTV) is a software that includes data about and keeps track of the locations and status of weapons, gear, ammo and personnel.  WeaponTracker supports not only tracking weapons and magazines by GSM-GPS, but also by RFID and/or barcodes for in-storage operations, such as Issues and Turn-ins and inventories.

  • Total Tracking Visibility (TTV)  integrates with backend databases and imports spreadsheet data, and enables manual data entry, to monitor officer status, assigned weapons and certifications, and to monitor cycles for weapon test firings, cleanings, inspections and maintenance.

  • Total Tracking Visibility (TTV) supports a wide range of hardware and functions including USB scanners, mobile scanners, tablets, card scanners, fingerprint pads, IRIS scanners, facial recognition, electronic signature pads, alarms-lights-voice alerts, cameras and the like.  WeaponTracker is a turn-key solution including software, software configuration, hardware, tags, labels, installation and ongoing support.

How does this actually work?

  • GSM tracking for firearms utilizes GPS and GMS (Global System for Mobile Communications) technology to track the location of firearms and can be utilized to track personnel, vehicles, munitions and heavy weaponry.
  • GPS Module: Firearms are equipped with a GPS module that communicates with satellites to determine the exact position of weapons locally and worldwide.
  • GSM Connectivity: The GPS module is paired with a GSM-based communication system, which allows the tracking device to send data over the cellular network.
  • Data Transmission: The location data, including coordinates and any alert information, is transmitted to WeaponTracker in real-time.
  • Alerts: If weapon is separated from officer, shot(s) fired, weapon exits geo-fence coordinates or weapon stops moving beyond expected time frames, WeaponTracker transmits outbound alert messages to staff and vehicles in proximity.
  • Disarming: If weapon is unaccounted-for or stolen, the tag can be disabled and not able to be fired.

Battery Life, Charging and Replacement

  • The weapon tag battery has a lifetime of 3 to 10 years without charging, depending on how the tag is configured to perform.
  • Personnel can have charging unit pack on their belt, leg, arm or body that continuously charges the tag while in use so that the tag does not loose capacity.
  • Tag can be charged, similar to a radio, while in storage.
  • There are automatic alerts if tag has reach low battery level, so that the tag can be recharged.
  • Batteries can be replaced and/or the tag can be upgraded to most current version as needed.

Geo-Fencing and Alert Management

  • Total Tracking Visibility (TTV) software integrates advanced geo-fencing technology to enhance the security and management of weapons and magazines. This system defines specific areas, such as armories or warehouses, where weapons are authorized to be stored. If a weapon or magazine breaches this designated geo-fenced area, an alert is automatically triggered, ensuring immediate awareness of potential security breaches
  • Weapons and magazines are issued exclusively to authenticated officers through the WeaponTracker platform. In the event that a weapon is lost, stolen, or fired, the software generates alerts automatically. This feature is crucial for maintaining accountability and rapid response in critical situations.

Real-Time Location Tracking and Personnel management

  • Total Tracking Visibility (TTV) continuously updates the last known location of each weapon within its software. It executes analytics based on the proximity of other officers and vehicles to the alert event, facilitating effective emergency response coordination. The tracking system utilizes GSM/GPS technology, allowing for real-time monitoring of weapons both locally and globally.
  • Total Tracking Visibility (TTV) enables comprehensive tracking of various transport vehicles and heavy weaponry, including tanks, artillery, watercraft, aircraft, drones, missiles, and torpedoes. This system ensures that all equipment is properly identified, tagged, and monitored in real-time.
  • The system enables real-time tracking of personnel linked to vehicles or tracked independently. This provides comprehensive location data for all assets—including vehicles, personnel, weapons, and magazines—enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

Weapon Unholstering

  • If a weapon is removed from its holster, an alert automatically transmits to WeaponTracker.
  • The Location of the weapon/person is identified by the weapon tag and WeaponTracker GSM/GPS positioning.
  • WeaponTracker applies analytics to determine the Location of the weapon / officer and transmits alert notifications to personnel and vehicles in proximity for security response.

Shots Fired by Weapon

  • If a weapon is fired,
  • Total Tracking Visibility (TTV) immediately triggers inbound alerts and updates the software with alerts.
  • The Location of the weapon/person is identified by the weapon tag and WeaponTracker GSM/GPS positioning.

removal of Tag

  • If a weapon tag is removed, WeaponTracker immediately triggers outbound updates the software and alerts.

GSM-GPS Weapon-Magazine Tracking

  • GSM-GPS tags are designed and sized to fit in most long gun grips or butts and on handguns.  The GSM-GPS tag can also be positioned on hand gun or long gun magazines, and appears like a typical extended magazine and it is not known by an observer that the extension is a GSM-GPS tag.

  • The tag is modifiable and configurable to each customer’s weapon and magazine types.  The tag will not be visible or if visible, will appear to be a natural extension of the weapon, and therefore ‘bad actors’ would not know to remove the tag.  Meaning that the weapon and/or magazines can be located if stolen, misplaced or otherwise unaccounted-for.

  • The tag has a battery life up to approximately six (6) months between time being charged, and alerts are created if battery power is running low so that the battery can be recharged.  Tag battery life depends on the size of the tag based on the type of weapon being tagged and where the weapon is tagged.  A small pouch can be on-person, on-belt, on-arm, on-leg of personnel that includes a charging unit that keeps the battery(s) charged while personnel are on-duty, keeping the battery charged and tag operations ongoing for up to approximately six (6) months at all times.  Keeping the tags charged while in-use eliminates the need to separately recharge batteries.  Once weapons and/or magazines are placed into storage, the tags go into sleep-mode to prevent battery depletion.  The charging unit and cord do not impede the normal usage of weapons.
